My boyfriend bought a Groupon for me to Pure Bliss back in December. My first appointment was at 3pm on a Saturday and Kristen called at 10 am that same day to cancel because she was sick. No problem, I understand stuff happens. I rescheduled for the next week.
SUMMARY
We got our money back from Groupon but it took a month and some follow up calls. I want the hours of my life back that I spent dealing with this place. Don't make the same mistake I did!
I have had the most frustrating experience with this business similar to the previous customer's review as the business cancelled my appointment at least five times, one of which the business was closed when I showed up for my appointment!
On March 5th my appointment was at 2 and Kristen called me at 10 that same day to cancel because she had the flu. Even if she would have honored my Groupon past the valid date I was moving to North Carolina the next day and so I wasn't going to be in the New Jersey area again. She said that if I needed her to call Groupon to help me get my money back she would be glad to do that which was nice. Instead I just hung up on her because I was frustrated. Sorry!
I called to reschedule in February and this time talked to her receptionist. The receptionist never said anything about extra time for my massage but that wasn't a big deal. I figured it was just something Kristen said before to pacify me. Unfortunately, I got the worst sunburn in Mexico and I had to cancel my appointment. When I rescheduled for the 4th time the only time she had open was March 5th, the last day my Groupon was valid.
I normally don't write reviews, however I felt it was important i write this particular one on "Pure Bliss Spa". My ex husband (which serves our country overseas) is currently in town visiting our son. He contacted a few local spa locations in the area to get massage. Since he lives in Germany he contacted Kristen from our 10 years olds cell phone, since his cell phone can only be used overseas. He scheduled an appointment with Kristen on Saturday September 2, 2017 for Sunday September 3rd at 8:30am. Kristen contacts my son's phone (minutes before the appointment) to inform him she is having a family emergency, however she just wanted to push the appointment back to 9am. My ex husband told her he understood and to help her out he said he'll take a 10am appointment instead. Kristen then sends a text messages to my son's phone regarding the appointment, my son explains to her that he is only ten and will have an adult contact her. However she responds inappropriately to my child and threats to call the cops and charge my ex husband for the visit, because she left her 8 year old daughter alone in the hospital (seems like a lie based on all her other Yelp/google reviews) Not only did she respond Inappropriately to a ten year old but she questioned our parenting skills. This coming from the women that left her 8 year old daughter alone in the hospital for a few extra dollars. DON'T EVER GO HERE!!!!!! Kristen is VERY unprofessional!!!!! As a business women she should be focused on providing exceptional customer service and not cursing or threatening potential clients.
Next week she called the day before my appointment to cancel and said that she was REALLY sick and in the hospital. She apologized and said since she cancelled on me twice she would give me extra time when I rescheduled. Awesome! I'm all about extra massage time. I was going out of town for a month and a half so I told her I'd call and reschedule in a couple weeks.
This business should close or have it's name change to "pure unbliss".
Rather than continuing to go back and forth with this business, I've been able to get my money back from Groupon.
I repeat DONT EVER GO HERE......I'm still trying to figure out why she is still in business
Kristin is a terrific massage therapist and a delightful person. You will not be disappointed.
I bought a Groupon for my wife to Pure Bliss Spa. She called to make an appointment, and at the last minute (I believe morning of appt) we get a call from her massage therapist that shes in the hospital or something and wasn't able to go in. My wife reschedules for about 2 weeks later. The morning of that 2nd appointment, the owner tells her she has to reschedule again, but because of this, shes going to add something to her massage. She then says that she will call my wife back. We never hear from them.
Kristen cancelled on me three times due to illness and I cancelled on her once. It's understandable for things to happen and people have to cancel but apparently this woman has the worst luck. I read in another review that she cancelled on someone because she was in a car accident. So in 3 months she has been in the hospital, been in a car accident and had the flu. Poor lady! Anyways, DON'T GO HERE! Whether she's telling the truth or not, it's just too much of a hassle.
Communicating with Kathy the owner has added insult to injury as she didn't respond to my request for a refund and only became defensive when I complained about it. She showed no understanding as to how cancelling on a customer five times is poor business practice and warrants a full refund. I am about to file a complaint with consumer affairs.
